Health monitoring of structures and detecting structural damages are crucial for maintaining structural integrity and assuring desirable service life. Traditionally, damage detection has been carried out through visual inspection, but this method has several limitations. Therefore, Vibration-based damage detection has become a more effective substitute for traditional techniques. The core idea is that the existence of damage or weakening in a structure leads to alterations in its dynamic char...
Portland cement is one of the primary components of concrete. However, around 5-30% of the carbondioxide emissions in the globe are produced by the manufacture of cement. Therefore, Engineers and scientists must produce and utilize green construction materials to achieve a more sustainable environment by developing geopolymer concrete (GPC). This study investigates the strength characteristics of sustainable GPC using binders such as ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) and fly ash (F...
Reinforced concrete (RC) structures need to be strengthened or retrofitted because of material deterioration or to regain the strength lost by structural components due to mishaps or catastrophic events like earthquakes etc. Various methods of strengthening, include externally bonded (EB) and near surface mounting (NSM) are utilized in literature to strengthen RC structures. But, a major drawback of the above-mentioned techniques is that they increase the strength at the cost of ductility. A ...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of cement and glass fibers as additives and assess the mechanical properties of CMA. The scope of this study included the preparation of CMA with cement and glass fibers, evaluation of mechanical properties using Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) and Tensile Strength Ratio (TSR), and statistical comparison ...
This paper presents a solar power optimizer (SPO) system to efficiently harvest the maximum amount of energy from each PV panel and integrate it with a DC bus. The proposed SPO employs a flyback converter, which operates with the P&O maximum power point tracking algorithm. The efficacy of these SPO systems is significantly improved, particularly under partial shading conditions, where centralized PV systems incur substantial losses. The performance of the 1 kW SPO system is evaluated in the p...
Purpose- Social protection measures can play a critical role in achieving development goals in the same way that a lack of security undermines them and increases vulnerability. In a developing country like India, a quantitative investigation of contributory social security, regulatory framework, and unorganized workers’ social protection is worth studying. Design/methodology/approach- This study examines the role of contributory social security and regulatory framework extending social protec...
The Indian Jewish diaspora has made significant contributions to the formation of modern Israeli society with their interventions in the liberation of Jewish refugees, servitude in the World Wars, and the revival of spoken Hebrew; however, the distinctiveness of their diasporic history and post-aliyah experiences are underrepresented, leading to a scholarly dearth in their social representations in India and Israel. This gap is addressed in this study by interpreting the diasporic uniqueness ...
Carbon dots (CD) are zero dimensional metal free tiny carbon nanoparticles containing sp2 carbon core and sp3 carbon outer surface. Very few CDs show enhanced laser absorption at NIR region which equip CD as a therapeutic agent. CD can perform as a photosensitizer, can induce hyperthermia which deplete growth of cancer, can be a carrier of photosensitizer and drug molecules due to compatible surface functionalization. On other hand, the advantages of mesoporous silica or hydrogel or carbonace...

Plant extracts have been successfully used as natural corrosion inhibitors. Therefore, this study aims to develop green and natural inhibitors using plant extracts for controlling the biofilm formation in cooling water systems. A total of 45 bacterial strains have been isolated from Koel River water which is u...
Path planning with obstacle avoidance is crucial for navigating an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) in an unknown and obstacle-rich three-dimensional space. Many studies have been conducted to develop a controller that can effectively navigate through an obstacle-rich environment for a mobile robot in a two-dimensional terrain. However, the trajectory planning of AUVs in a three-dimensional environment is still challenging. This paper aims to develop an optimized obstacle-free path in a th...
Advances in intelligent control technologies and remote sensing have opened up a whole new world of underwater autonomy. A number of research issues must first be investigated in simulation and experimental platforms to build competent remotely operated underwater robots for subsea environments. Underwater (Remotely Operated Vehicles) ROVs can improve their exploration and navigation efficiency by applying the Social Spider Optimization Algorithm (SSOA). Through the utilization of social spid...

The main objective of thi...
Differential expression of genes involved in cellular homeostasis is a collaborative outcome of coordination between molecular signal transduction, transcription factors and DNA and histone modification enzymes (Manna et al., 2023). Evidences are accumulating in favor of mechanotransduction induced chromatin modification and gene expression (Mishra et al., 2024). In response to specific signals, transcription factors and chromatin modifiers jointly dominate the expression/repression of genes....

photocatalysis and photovoltaics because of their efficient ferroelectric polarization-driven carrier separation which in principle can lead to better photocatalytic activity compared to conventional semiconducting oxides. However, the efficiency reported so far for conventional ferroelectrics is still too low to be considered for practical application due to the wide band gap (>3eV) of these materials. The invention of visible light absorbing semiconducting ferroelectric oxide (1-x)KNbO3 -x(...
In this article, we report the synthesis and structural characterization of polycrystalline NixNbSe2 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.25) and single crystals of NixNbSe2 (x = 0.14, and 0.25). The intercalation limit of Ni in NbSe2 is found to be 25 mole%, above which NiSe remains as an impurity phase. Single crystal diffraction studies show two distinct phase transitions with Ni intercalation in NixNbSe2.The phase evolves from a mixture phase (2H+4H) for the pristine NbSe2 to Ni intercalated 2...
