In recent years, vanadium compounds have been extensively studied for their biological, medicinal, and other therapeutic applications.1,2 To date, only a limited number of non-oxido and dinuclear oxido VIV complexes have been studied, mainly for their potential use in anticancer studies. So, exploring the toxicity potential of non-oxido compared to dinuclear oxido VIV complexes could provide valuable insights into their solution-phase stability and biological effects. In this presentation, th...
The rise of drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis has emerged as a global health emergency. Host-directed therapies that elevates innate immune responses offer a viable alternative. In this study, we investigated the potential of Mitoxantrone (MTX) as a host modulating agent with anti-mycobacterial activity. The cell viability assay confirmed that 1 µM MTX is non-toxic to dTHP-1 cells. Time kinetics experiments identified 12hrs treatment period as optimal for eliciting autophagic response...
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tb), the causative agent of human tuberculosis (TB), continues to be a significant cause of mortality worldwide. The latest findings have highlighted autophagy as a host-defence mechanism that eradicates many invading bacteria, including M. tb. Thus, novel approaches like the stimulation of autophagy using various pharmaceutical drugs can be undertaken to deal with this noxious pathogen. The present study has been formulated to evaluate the anti-mycobacterial po...
Mitoxantrone, a topoisomerase II inhibitor with known immunomodulatory properties, has emerged as a potential regulator of mitochondrial quality control in macrophages In this study, we explored the role of NF κB IL 8 signalling in mitoxantrone mediated mitochondrial responses and its impact on mycobacterial clearance in differentiated THP 1 cells Our findings suggest that mitoxantrone triggers IL 8 activation, leading to upregulation of NF κB expression The autocrine IL 8 signalling promotes...
The uses of Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) composite materials have grown vastly in modern day engineering because they exhibit a greater strength-to-weight ratio, resistance to corrosion, and tailored mechanical properties. Bolted joints are commonly employed in FRP structures due to their ease of assembly and disassembly. However, their structural integrity and vibration performance directly affect the serviceability and safety of these structures. In this study, a three-dimensional (3D) nu...
Well controlled development of mammals, including humans is the pre-requisite of fruitful reproduction. Nervous system plays distinct roles in reproduction. Aberrant gene expression and uncontrolled neuronal differentiation leads to neuroblastoma. Chromatin modifications, including DNA methylation and various types of chemical modifications of histone regulates gene expression. Neuronal stem cells differentiate into mature neurons essential for brain activities like memory, learning and cogni...
The execution of image processing tasks on edge and IoT devices is always coupled with the need to develop encryption algorithms with a guarantee of security and low computation complexity. Most classical encryption algorithms employ a constant secret key and software-based implementation, making them unsuitable for resource-constrained devices and platforms. The study proposes the idea of implementing edgedriven key generation for hardware-assisted lightweight image encryption with Sobel edg...
We present here findings from a search for 22 Lyman Break Galaxies (LBGs) at a range of 0.7 ≤ z ≤ 1.2 in the Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey North (GOODS-N) field by UltraViolet Imaging Telescope (UVIT) on board ASTROSAT, employing the dropout technique. We present an estimation of the physical properties, including age, mass, and star formation rates (SFRs), of the LBG candidates using the spectral energy distribution (SED) fitting method, and their morphology.

The present study investigates the comprehensive quality and compositional profiling of twelve underutilized Hyacinth bean (Lablab purpureus) landrace accessions through a multidisciplinary approach integrating traditional analytical techniques with modern deep learning tools. Initially, we conducted an extensive evaluation of engineering properties, proximate composition, antinutritional factors, and mineral content (including essential minerals and heavy metals) for each accession. To extra...
Diesel-powered heavy earth moving machineries are nowadays being deployed widely in Indian underground hard rock mining operations due to its power, reliability and productivity. However, the combustion of diesel fuel releases different exhaust emissions, including Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM), which poses a significant health risk to miners. DPM, by and large consists of very small/micro (less than 1 μm in diameter) particles including carbon compounds, sulphates, and metals etc., which c...
This research presents a novel numerical method for solving a class of complex optimal control problems that feature distributed-order derivatives. The approach leverages the advanced mathematical properties of fractional-order Laguerre wavelets to transform the original continuous-time control problem into a more manageable discrete set of algebraic equations. This transformation is accomplished by utilizing Reimann-Liouville distributed-order operational matrices, which serve as the foundat...
Open-air rural weekly markets or haat-s in India have always been spaces for economic and social exchange. Nestled within a forest of Sonajhuri trees dotting the eroded landscape of khoai off Santiniketan in West Bengal, Sonajhuri haat serves as a dynamic site for cultural expression where local artisans, artist-designers, tribals, and folk artists assert their identities through the exhibition-cum-sale of traditional handicrafts, handloom, food, music and dance, thus contributing to intangib...
Stirling cryocoolers (SCs) are widely used in space infrared detection and superconducting electronics due to their compactness, high reliability, and capability to reach cryogenic temperatures. Although the single-stage SCs are effective for moderate temperature ranges, achieving lower temperatures with sufficient cooling power requires a two-stage configuration. The second-order analysis of SC has traditionally relied on idealized assumptions for evaluating cooling power and coefficient of ...
The application of continuous miner technology in de-veloped thick coal seams presents considerable stability chal-lenges, particularly where the immediate roof is weak and strati-fied. This study was conducted to assess the stability of heightened coal pillars and associated underground structures during continu-ous miner-based mechanised depillaring in Panel C-2A of GDK-11 Incline Mine, SCCL, with the objective of ensuring safe and efficient coal extraction. A comprehensive approach combini...
Effective ventilation planning plays a critical role in maintaining safety, op-erational efficiency, and compliance with statutory regulations in under-ground coal mining. While ventilation simulation software such as Ventsim is extensively utilized, its effectiveness largely depends on accurate model calibration, which is essential for developing reliable ventilation strategies. In this study, a detailed field investigation was conducted in an operational coal mine to perform a Pressure–Quan...
Underground coal mining in India is increasingly directed toward maximizing coal recovery from standing pillars, many of which lie beneath critical surface features such as railways, water bodies and residential areas. Depillaring with stowing is widely adopted to control strata movement and limit surface subsidence, thereby protecting these surface structures. However, support design at the goaf edge during depillaring with stowing is often based on guide-lines originally developed for cavin...
