A correlation has been proposed for the prediction of the minimum semifluidization velocity from bedexpansion data for liquid-solid systems. The influence of particle interaction on hindered settling has been incorporated through Steinour's concentration-correction term, Values calculated by the correlation have been compared with the experimental ones obtained over a wide range of operating parameters, viz. particle size, shape and density for both pure-component and binaries (mixed particle and mixed-density systems).en
