Fe5O8 (LFO) was synthesized by sol-gel auto combustion method. The phase confirmation of the samples was done by the Rietveld refined X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns. Temperature dependent magnetic properties were investigated by the Vibrating Sample Magnetometer. Temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity suggested polaronic hopping conduction in the high temperature region of 352 - 400 K. The magnetoelectric (ME) measurement revealed the true ME coupling in the sample.en_US
