The world of work has been constantly evolving, wherein the workforce in the previous era was driven by the need for stability, and is now driven by the desire for creative disruption. Therefore, firms must continuously respond to the challenges and dynamics, while employees must be prepared for any impending changes to progress and achieve a competitive position. This paper's central theme is employee agility, which refers to the ability of employees to respond to and capitalize on changes. We draw a proposition on how configurations of high-performance work systems (HPWS) provide for intellectual capital which improves employees’ agility.en_US
