Abstract: The theme meeting was jointly organized by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Uranium Corporation of India Ltd. (UCIL) on 04-05 December 2023. The objective of the meeting was to explore diverse applications of uranium mill tailings in societal contexts and to understand the potential contributions to various sectors, including civil engineering. In the theme meeting, the development of suitable materials, scientific understandings, compliance with Indian Standards and regulatory framework, and scope for R&D and development were discussed in detail. I have been invited to deliver a brief presentation on the Feasibility of Utilization of the Uranium Tailing Mill in the Highway Sector. My Presentation was focused on the highlighted techniques and methodologies for incorporating tailings into construction materials and infrastructure projects. Moreover, the feasibility aspects of the utilization of the tailing mill as a road-making material were discussed. The effective utilization of the tailing mill concerning engineering and environmental properties was also highlighted and respective perspectives have been discussed for the scientific approach of it. Also, the environmental and economic benefits of utilizing uranium mill tailings were emphasized. Overall, the theme of effective and appropriate utilization of uranium tailing mills in highway construction was proposed.
