Abstract: | The use of solar photovoltaic technology continues to rise. Low-voltage solar PV systems often use several power conversion stages to maximize flexibility, there must be a voltage booster in between those steps. This paper introduces a solar photovoltaic (PV)-fed 11-level inverter that uses switching capacitors to increase voltage. By using the right charging and discharging patterns, switched capacitors automatically maintain their own voltage balance, allowing for significant voltage gains. To achieve the required voltage levels, a multi-carrier LS-PWM switching architecture is used. The advantages of the presented topology are shown by a comparison with current topologies with respect to switch counts, voltage boosting factors, dc sources, and capacitors. The performance analysis of the boost MLI with inductive load has been done using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. |
