Abstract: Virtual oscillator control (VOC) is a very popular method for the control of parallel inverters. In this work, Deadzone oscillator (DZO) based VOC and Hopf oscillator (HO) based VOC is presented to regulate the parallel inverters in a standalone microgrid (MG). The voltage amplitude and frequency reference of the inverters are coming from the oscillator dynamics. The extensive comparison of DZO and HO based control methods with different types of loads is also presented in this work. The HO based control method minimizes harmonic distortion and achieves faster time response compared to DZO based control method. The simulation results show the efficacy of the HO based control method.
