Abstract: Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) with field-oriented control (FOC) are widely used in bestperformance drive systems due to their unique characteristics, including greater power factor, high efficiency, and higher power density. Typically, a voltage source inverter (VSI) is employed to regulate the PMSM. To control the VSI, an appropriate pulse width modulation (PWM) approach must be utilized. The performance of a vector-control (FOC) PMSM drive using SPWM and SVPWM algorithms is compared in this paper. Additionally, by injecting a demagnetizing current component, the Maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) approach is employed to increase the overall effectiveness of the motor drive system. The IPMSM drive has been modeled and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and results have been analyzed. At finally implement the hardware with MicroLab Box and analyze the system performance.
