Abstract: Intelligent street light management system is one of the prominent applications of smart city. In this work, a self- powered street light management system has been designed to save the electricity budget of a smart city. The system has been powered from ambient solar energy. It controls the illuminance of the street light according to traffic movement. It works in an optimized way to extend its battery life. Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) has been used for wireless communication. The total energy consumption of the system has been calculated mathematically. The system can work for more than eight days if kept under solar light for one day.
