Herein, we reported the effect of Co doping on the optical band gap of LaFe1-xCoxO3 (x = 0, 0.4, 0.5 & 0.6) nanoparticles prepared by a simple sol-gel technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of as prepared samples are analyzed for the confirmation of incorporation of Co atom into the host lattice. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) exhibits the compact surface morphologies of doped LaFeO3 (LFO). The optical properties were studied by UV-Vis spectrometer. The results suggest that the observed narrow band gap with the doping of transition metal ion can be useful for research in optoelectronic devices.en_US
