Abstract: | SrCo1:5Ti1:5Fe9O19 hexagonal ferrite powder was synthesized by solid state reaction route. The X-ray diffraction analysis con¯rmed the formation of pure hexagonal ferrite phase at 1200±C. The e®ects of B2O3 sintering additive on the sintering behavior at 900±C and the properties of the ferrite have been investigated. There was very little densi¯cation at 900±C in the case of pure ferrite, while ferrite containing 5 wt% B2O3 additive showed denser microstructure and increased grain growth. Both permittivity and permeability were enhanced in 5 wt% B2O3 added ferrite due to better densi¯cation. These results indicate that B2O3 is a good sintering additive and can be applicable in the low-temperature co-¯red ceramics (LTCC) multilayer device technology. A ferrite antenna based on low temperature sintered SrCo1:5Ti1:5Fe9O19 ferrite material is proposed for the high-frequency application. Antenna parameters such as resonant frequency, return loss, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), and gain were simulated and reported. |
