Nanotechnology is widely used in dental field as nano dentistry. While choosing the nanoparticle for the use in the field of nano dentistry its chemical, physical, along with the biological aspect of nanostructures are taken into account. Some of the nanoparticles widely used in dentistry includes, zirconia, hydroxyl apatite and titanium dioxide. These nanoparticle are used for filling of teeth, oral disease preventive drugs, prostheses and for teeth implantation. The wide use of nanoparticle enhances the chances of introducing the nanoparticle into the food chain. Thus it warrants checking the toxicity of nanoparticle using a model organism. The current study checks the toxicity of nanoparticle using Drosophila as a model organism.en_US
