This paper describes the processing, characterization and erosion wear response of fly ash filled epoxy composites reinforced with short fibers obtained from the scales of a typical fresh water fish (Lobea rohita). Erosion characteristics are studied using an air jet type erosion test rig employing the Taguchi’s design of experiments approach. The findings show that the erosion rate is greatly influenced by various control factors. An optimal combination of these control factors is determined for minimization of erosion rate. A mathematical correlation is proposed as a predictive equation for estimation of erosion rate of these composites.en
