| Abstract: | The problems due to nitrogen oxide emission have been stressed and sources identified. A few recent measures for reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions are enumerated. Current developments in dry denitrification techniques viz. catalytic, non- catalytic and adsorption techniques are outlined and a detailed comparative account of wet absorption of nitric oxides by various absorbents has been given. Importance of a few simultaneous desulfurisation and denitrification techniques has also been incorporated. Lines of future research relating to specific denitrification techniques are proposed. |
