| Abstract: | Lithium ferrite (LiFe5O8) was synthesized via the sol-gel auto-combustion method. Rietveld-refined XRD confirmed a single-phase cubic spinel structure. Magnetic studies revealed ferrimagnetic behavior with appreciable saturation magnetization, while electrical resistivity analysis indicated thermally activated Arrhenius conduction between 326-400 K with an activation energy of 0.69 eV. Magnetoelectric (ME) measurements exhibited a linear response in the 300-400 K temperature range, confirming the presence of ME coupling in the sample. These results suggest that LiFe5O8 is a potential multifunctional magnetoelectric material. |
