dc.description.abstractThe paper brings out the differences between the dry and the wet scrubbing methods of control of atmospheric pollution due to sulphur dioxide emission. Important wet scrubbing methods alongwith their relative merits and demerits have been enumerated. The mechanism of sulphur dioxide absorption in limestone slurry has been elaborately discussed with the help of kinetic models.en
