dc.description.abstractInflatable planar membrane reflectors offer a promising solution for spacecraft antenna systems, particularly in near-term missions where cost-effectiveness and packaging efficiency are critical. These lightweight, deployable structures significantly reduce launch mass and volume, making them attractive for small satellites and deep-space applications. However, the performance of such membrane reflectors is highly sensitive to surface accuracy, which in turn is governed by the tension forces applied at the anchor points. Any external disturbance, especially from space debris, can adversely affect these forces and thereby degrade antenna performance. The present study investigates numerically, the effect of the debris impact on the tension forces, deformations of the membrane reflector. The results provide insights into the structural vulnerabilities of inflatable antennas and highlight the need for improved design strategies to enhance resilience against orbital debris threats.en_US
