Abstract: Investigated the influence of surface texturing and material selection on hydrodynamic journal bearing performance. Applied finite difference modeling to simulate textured surface interactions. Analyzed load carrying capacity and deformation behavior under identical groove textures. Focused on material-dependent lubricant film formation. Found that: Surface geometry significantly affects bearing performance. Material properties influence pressure generation and film stability. Provides insights for designing eco-efficient bearings in marine and industrial applications.
