Abstract: This paper provides an overview and implementation of numerical techniques for buckling analysis of beam-columns. Using a four-degree-of-freedom beam element, we analyze the vibration frequency of beam-columns without axial loads. For beam-column under axial loads, we implement an existing analytical formulation to determine the axial load as a function of frequency. The results show that the fundamental vibration frequency decreases with the increase in the axial load.
