Abstract: | This experiment explored the synthesis of gold and gold-iron oxide nanoparticles and their effect on the amyloid of the hen egg white lysozyme (HEWL). Characterization of the nanoparticles showed that it is crystalline, stable and possess size below 100nm. The anti-amyloidogenic study was performed with thioflavin T and 8-anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid (ANS) Assay. The result supported that, both the nanoparticles had inhibited amyloid formation. Over that, the inhibitory effect of the nanoparticles on HEWL was more effective in the lower concentration. |
