Abstract: In this paper, the solar PV-fed DC microgrid with several battery energy storage systems (BESS) is proposed to be equipped with a power-sharing scheme (PSS). The finite control set-model predictive control is implemented for the charging/discharging control of BESS. The PV system is operated in maximum power point tracking (MPPT) mode. As solar irradiance has intermittent nature, the power output of the PV fluctuates. The BESS is vital for maintaining power balance and DC bus voltage stability. The BESS must be operated within its SOC limits to prevent overcharging or deep discharging. In the proposed PSS, the centralized controller considers the SOC of each battery bank for power-sharing among the BESSs. Load shading and dump loads schemes are also incorporated in the PSS. The experimental verification of the proposed power-sharing scheme was carried out in MATLAB/Simulink and the results indict the effectiveness of the PSS. Experimental verification for the proposed PSS is carried out using hardware in the loop.
