Here, the proposed work primarily focused on the planning of a grid-connected electric vehicle (EV) charging station integrated with a solar photovoltaic (PV) system. The foremost objective of the paper is to investigate the feasibility of utilizing renewable energy sources to charge EVs and to reduce the dependency on non-renewable energy sources. A multi-level constant current (MLCC) charging technique for EVs was implemented by considering the different states of charge of EV batteries. Also, a constant DC bus voltage regulation based power management scheme was implemented for optimal utilization of the sources and optimal sharing of active power. The control technique for the proposed PV-integrated EV charging station was verified through MATLAB/Simulink results and OPAL-RT experimental results.en_US
