Extensive experimental works have been carried out to study hygrothermal effects on the mechanical behaviour of glass/epoxy and carbon/epoxy composites. The finding of our experiments show that it is the temperature which the effective controling factor for changing the mechanism of absorption. The present paper also investigates the effects of strain rate on the interlaminar shear strength(ILSS) of hygrothermally conditioned composite specimens.en
