| Abstract: | This paper attempt to highlight some of the most popular open source solutions used in Biju Patnaik Central Library (BPCL) of National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NITR), Odisa, India for digitization, preservation and dissemination of digital assets. The management and technical challenges faced in the organization and dissemination of such digital resources has been also described. The paper discusses about the various open source solutions like EPrint, DSpace, Joomla, Koha etc. used for digital preservation and dissemination of knowledge worldwide. It also describes some of the technical and policy related issues faced in the entire management of digital resources and their probable solutions. |
