Abstract: | Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) is one of the promising techniques, that provides good Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction for Orthogonal Frequency Division (OFDM) signal. The traditional PTS (T-PTS) has high complexity, as it involves extensive random search over all the combinations of allowed phase vectors. Moreover, the search complexity increases exponentially with the increase in number of phase vectors. In this paper, a suboptimal meta-heuristic algorithm for phase optimization based on Improved Harmony Search is proposed. Harmony Search mimics the improvisation process of music players. The pro- posed improved harmony search based PTS (IHS-PTS) pro-vides improved performance compared to harmony search algorithm. Simulation results show significant reduction in PAPR using simple network structure compared to conventional harmony search algorithm and firefly algorithm. |
