In most of the situations, power electronics converters are mainly used as an interfacing device between distributed generation (DG) system and utility grid in order to meet the following objectives: 1) grid synchronization 2) active and reactive power control through voltage and frequency control 3) improvement of power quality (i.e. harmonic elimination) etc. But due to wide variation of the reactive power in the consumers-end, the voltage at the point of common coupling (PCC) is usually affected. In this paper adaptive hysteresis current controller is proposed for inverter-interfaced grid connected system in order to meet the active and reactive power demand during load variations and both can be controlled independently. The proposed controller reduces the current harmonic at PCC considerably. It observes that the adaptive hysteresis current controller can provide the low switching frequency of operation of inverter switches irrespective of load variations and it ensures lower total harmonic distortion (THD). The studied system is modeled and simulated in the MATLAB Simulink environment.en
